Some RTX 4070s Already Discounted a Day After Launch

Several GeForce RTX 4070 graphics cards have dropped to MSRP a day after launch. Some of these top-performing GPUs cost up to $629.99 yesterday, but have been reduced to $599.99 today. We don't know why we're seeing cuts so early, but it's still a great advantage to see.

Among the various discounts, the Asus RTX 4070 Dual OC and MSI RTX 4070 Ventus X3 OC saw some early adjustments. Both cards have been visibly reduced on Best Buy's online store from $609.99 and $629.99, respectively, to $599.99. As expected, both cards sold out at Best Buy since the discounts were launched.

Fortunately, both SKUs are still available at other retailers such as Newegg and Amazon for the same price of $599.99. Interestingly, Newegg does not indicate that these are discounted prices and sells them as if they were the regular prices of the card.

The most interesting aspect of these price changes is that most of the RTX 4070 models and their factory-overclocked models are now selling for $599.99 due to this change. Usually, factory-overclocked models cost at least $10-20 more than their standard counterparts due to their slightly faster performance. But we are not seeing that with most RTX 4070s this time around, which is great for customers. Of course, the factory overclocking won't give the 4070 a significant performance boost, but in this case, it's free performance.
